Introducing Zone Go: Bringing Creativity Directly Into Communities

We're excited to introduce Zone Go – a brand-new mobile youth space designed to bring free creativity, games, music, art and hangout spaces directly into communities.

Developed from everything we've learned through The Zone, Zone Go expands our growing work creating artist-led youth spaces in public settings. While The Zone transforms marketplaces, festivals and city squares into vibrant hubs for young people, Zone Go has been designed to bring many of those same experiences directly into neighbourhoods, estates, villages and rural communities.

Built around a specially designed van and inflatable structures, Zone Go can pop up almost anywhere.

When the Zone Go van arrives, inflatable spaces pop up around it, transforming parks, estates, village greens and town centres into colourful spaces packed with creativity, music, games and good vibes.

Open the doors and you'll find everything from board games and craft kits to cameras, musical instruments and a gaming station – plus plenty of space to hang out, get creative and leave your mark on the giant art wall.

This summer, Zone Go will make its debut at Bradford Festival before visiting locations across Mansfield and Lincoln. Across its first summer, the project will deliver more than 30 days of free activity for young people aged 11–18, with additional locations and opportunities still to be announced.

Over the last two years, The Zone has welcomed more than 3,000 visits from young people, helping us understand what makes a great youth space. Zone Go builds on that learning, allowing us to bring creativity, connection and opportunities closer to home for young people who may find it harder to access larger town-centre or festival-based spaces.

The Zone has shown us what can happen when you create ambitious, artist-led youth spaces in public settings.
Zone Go is the next step in that journey, helping us bring creativity, connection and opportunities directly into communities.
We’re excited to see what happens when more young people can access these experiences closer to home.
— Toby Ealden, Artistic Director and CEO of Zest

Zone Go has been developed by Zest in partnership with AirClad and shaped with support from Future Proof, our national youth consultancy group. The build of Zone Go has been made possible through funding from BNA, whose investment has helped bring this new mobile youth space to life.
