An audio adventure into eternity

Embark on a journey of discovery as you seek out the monolith – you know, the one that has all the answers to life’s biggest questions that can’t possibly be answered... Or can they?

Developed with young people from across the country, monolith is an audio-based experience that uses meditation and mindfulness to take you on an adventure just beyond your perception. All you need is a device connected to the internet and some headphones.

Close your eyes, use your imagination, and explore the wonders of the universe from the comfort of wherever you are – you might just find something you didn’t know you were missing.

Age suitability

monolith is suitable for those aged 13+.

Running time

34 minutes. monolith has been created to be experienced in one sitting, but you are welcome to pause should you need to at any point.

Trigger warnings & strong content

monolith contains occasional strong language. This audio experience aims to promote good mental health and connection following a year of isolation. This does employ mindfulness techniques, such as tempered breathing, as well as soundscapes that occasionally become quite intense. We ask audiences to remain mindful and feel free to pause, adjust sound levels, and engage with the work in a way that best suits their personal needs as they listen. A self care guide is available within the experience.

Accessibility

monolith is an audio experience, but there are lots of reasons why you might want a text version to read along. The full script is available to read within the experience. For the rest of our website, feel free to use the Accessibility Tools above.

Booking your pass

monolith is only available to those given access by our partners across the country.

When to listen

How many people can take part

monolith has been created for people to experience on their own, but you can listen with others, if needed.

Where to experience monolith

You can choose to experience monolith anywhere in the world that has access to the internet. We recommend you do not listen whilst driving, or whilst doing any activity that needs your full concentration. We suggest a private space where you won't be distracted and feel safe to close your eyes.

You can be anywhere in the world

Through the wonder of the internet, you can experience monolith from wherever you are across the globe. The postal experience that accompanies the audio adventure is only available to those living in the UK.

I've not heard of a monolith before

A monolith is a large single block made out of rock or metal, usually shaped into a pillar or monument. Give it a Google and take a look at the images - you'll see what we mean.
